Restaurant Carlos in Schwerte

A piri piri is a must! We always like to eat there!

A rustic, large restaurant with lots of space. In addition to the main entrance, there is a second entrance, which is suitable for disabled people. It is best to let them know by phone beforehand, as the second door is locked. The menu has a wide variety of tapas and I recommend that you consult the staff on your first visit. They are also happy to provide information. The chairs and tables are robust and match the ambience. Small drawback: the toilets are in the basement, up a steep staircase, which is a problem for some people. Otherwise it was a nice evening. Thank you so much!

In itself a nice restaurant and delicious food. The staff is very nice, works pretty quickly and coordinates. But that you add a portion of mayo to a children's dish without asking and this is charged at € 1, I find outrageous. As others have also written: the same applies to the bread and aioli offered, although I knew this beforehand ... Conclusion: in this restaurant you pay for everything that is brought to the table - regardless of whether you have ordered it or not.

It's a shame - I am actually an enthusiastic and regular visitor to the Carlos in Lünen. I celebrated my birthday with my family on October 4th, 2020 in Dortmund. First of all, the most important thing: the food is still delicious - even if the kitchen is busy, the waiting times are still acceptable. The service deserves a maximum of 2 stars. The tables were always full of empty plates, and unfortunately they weren't cleared when requested. We were never asked for a second drink. In addition, we were asked very unpleasantly to leave the Carlos after 2.5 hours (we had 12 guests with 3 courses and it was about 20 minutes after the dessert was served) because so many guests were waiting. Incidentally, that could not be overlooked, because the guests waited directly at the bar and in the corridors - there was no gap between the tables or in the restaurant as a whole. It's a shame, different used and expected - first visit to Dortmund in years and therefore also the last.

We have just celebrated our birthday and are very satisfied, the atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, sparkling wine was perfect, Carlos's team was very nice and coordinated. We always have something to eat on the table. Price performance good. The only thing I didn't like that much was tiramisu too sweet

Pure short vacation! Everything is delicious, the flair is right and the service is great. We'll definitely be back as we haven't tried everything on the menu yet :)

I can't share all of the exuberant reviews. It also doesn't seem to be important to the owner if a rating that is not so good appears. We were there on 09/12/20 with 6 people. Table reservations absolutely necessary, all tables occupied. Ambience very good. However, in my opinion the tables placed too close together in the unloved Corona time. I have seen better elsewhere several times. Here you just want to get the place full. Sorry Therefore, you should / have to take a little more time with you from ordering to eating. The food itself was very good: Chicken PiriPiri, meat skewer, fish / shrimp skewers, dates wrapped in bacon, Knofi dip, bread, olives, desserts. Portions are sufficient. Nothing to complain about. AAABER: At least 1 part was forgotten in every course. We always had to ask. Answer was "Oh - I'll bring you right away". Even 4 cutlery sets for 6 people does not seem to be worth considering. 2 female service staff ignored us to a large extent, the 1 male service staff was very nice and, in my opinion, was. in "normal service mode". Also, new guests were simply left standing at the entrance for a long time until they, in some cases a little annoyed, simply stopped a service staff to get attention. When paying, according to the service staff, only the whole table can be billed (supposedly in the menu) and not e.g. 2 people separately. That is a very lousy service - I have never experienced it before. 3 points for the food - 0 for the service. We'll try the Carlos locations in Schwerte and Lünen - maybe they're more attentive there. As I said: it's not the food here.

If you want to eat and drink really well, you are in very good hands here, with a good atmosphere and very nice staff. 👍

A visit is always worthwhile. Even the simple dishes like the grilled chicken or the prawns are delicious.

Very cozy and tasteful decoration. The starters and especially the main courses are very tasty and flavorful. The presentation is really great. The choice of drinks leaves nothing to be desired. And don't forget the very friendly and attentive service. Here you can have a wonderful time with your loved ones with exquisite food. And the biologically necessary walk to the cellar is a visual highlight and fits perfectly into the design concept of this restaurant. We'll definitely be back - and don't forget: a reservation is mandatory - but it's definitely worth it.

So the food is actually very good at Carlos and also the rustic ambience as on an old pirate ship is inviting !!! Why this restaurant still gets only 3 stars from me has the following reason! When choosing the food is a asked if you also want to have bread before, as a rule, something like this is served to the guest, but here is the bread with 3 € at the end of the bill to see! Good with it you can live but now comes the blockbuster! With the few slices of bread, a garlic cream is served with the name Ajoli in a tiny bowl, which is also charged extra with 4 € !!! Thus, that is 7 € for a few small slices of bread with garlic cream that no one has ordered !!! This is not about the few euros much more because it is brazen and pretty nasty! For this reason, this restaurant is only worth 3 stars! At the food, however, there is nothing to complain about!

Yes, it was okay. The staff was very friendly and quick. There are many small dishes to try out. The main courses are then somewhat larger. However, the food was a bit too greasy / oily for me. You can also eat outside, but then you sit directly on a busy street. On the whole one can recommend the restaurant! 🇵🇹🔥👌

Charming atmosphere. Meat as delicious as I remember in my second visit after 15 years.

Good restaurant, sometimes you need a reservation. Food is served in very "cool" way - it mean looks great, but stay not so long warm. Overall expression - place is nice to visit, but i miss "Biergarten" and seating on the street side near traffic light not very good.
